The next time you book a hotel room‚ consider following up with a call to Paradise Pet Hotel & Day Spa.
The boarding facility on Olympia Drive in Bloomington will give your pet every bit as much of a vacation as you’ll have.
“One of the main motivations for me to open this place was that I could never find a boarding facility I was comfortable with‚” says owner Katherine Sieraski.
Guests are sure to be comfortable here. Dogs enjoy three to four scheduled doggie play/exercise times during the day‚ when they can run through a custom-built fort or take a dip in a pool. They also get grilled hotdogs‚ and for a few extra bucks‚ owners can treat their pups to Saturday morning brunch of eggs and Beggin’ Strips.
After pets are played out‚ they head to their individual suites‚ consisting of a 5-by-8-foot indoor area with heated and cooled floors and an attached 5-by-8-foot outdoor area.
Pet owners don’t even have to go out of town to check Rover into Paradise. He can be dropped off for a fun-filled time at day camp.
Sieraski opened the kennel in August 2004 after thinking about it for about 20 years. For the four years leading up to the opening‚ she learned everything she could about dog behavior.
One thing she learned was the soothing effect that music has. “Dogs are very emotionally sensitive to the music around them‚” she says‚ and so she plays it all day for her guests. “If I have country music on‚ they’re in their groove. They’re really happy.”
Paradise also accepts cats. The facility can board up to 12 cats in separate condos.
Overnight boarding starts at $23 per day for dogs and $18 for cats.
